August has been another busy month at dates n mates Aberdeen with another month of events enjoyed by members.
This month’s events
Flapjack and Smoothie Workshop
Members came to cook with us in the CFine Kitchen. We saw lots of creative flare in the smoothies and flapjacks that were made, and they were delicious too!
So, the weather didn’t really hold up for our summer picknick in Duthie Park, although that was no obstacle to our members having a good time. We went for a walk in the winter gardens to get out of the rain then went to the café for food and drinks.
Peterhead Day Out
Our day out in Peterhead was loads of fun. We went for a wander around the town and we even had our own local tour guide, our member Claire who lives locally and was able to show us around.
We had another lovely sunny day for our third Celebrate Aberdeen Parade on Saturday and had a great time promoting dates n mates, we even had our own chant made up by Liz. We all enjoyed a well-deserved pub lunch after the parade.
We met up for a movie for our last event in August. We chose to see a comedy called ‘blinded by the light’ which we all really enjoyed. As always it was lovely to catch up with everyone.
Other news this month:
Nicola has joined as the new marketing and events coordinator and is settling in well. She is looking forward to getting to meet more members at next month’s events!
