January Member Events:
- Coffee and cake committee meeting with lunch at the Carvery
- Healthy eating cooking evening
- Sports taster session
- Line Dancing class
We started the year with a lunch asking for members feedback and ideas for the year ahead. We then focused on a healthier lifestyle with healthy cooking, line dancing and sports events. Ending the month with a fun night of dancing and singing at our disco.
Members really enjoyed the line dancing, trampolining at the sports afternoon and we even convinced a few members that a healthy fish dish tasted good!! Being fit and healthy definitely can be fun and a great activity to do with friends.
Some suggestions from our members this month included BBQ, quiz night and another karaoke with the Breadmaker – we have now organised a karaoke evening for April. We also discussed with members ideas for upcoming training workshops – we have some new training coming soon!
Other news this month:
- Michelle interviewed 2 new members in January
- The whole team had a skype meeting with the Glasgow/Renfrewshire branches discussing disability equality with Board member Mole Chapman
Lastly, as many of you will know our Project Coordinator, Laurie will be going on maternity leave soon to take time off to have her baby. While she is away our Events Coordinator, Louise, will step in to the role of Project Coordinator on a maternity cover basis.
Therefore, we are currently recruiting for someone to temporarily cover the events & marketing role so we will have a new member of staff soon. This vacancy is open for applications until the 15th of February, find out more information here.
We are planning to get members and our Director, Sarah more involved in these website posts – so keep an eye out for some different content on the website soon!
