One of the most anticipated events of the year has now gone by… Halloween Party!
It was a Spooktacular night to end another fun month here at dates-n-mates Aberdeen.
- Cooking Dating Night
- Halloween Arts & Crafts
- Aberdeen Comedy Festival Show
- Halloween Disco
We started the month with a new dating event… a cooking evening for our single members looking for love! They do say the way to someone’s heart is through their stomach after all and cooking is a fun activity to try together with a new potential date! Our members made pitta bread pizza’s and a peach crunch desert alongside our drinks station. Each course was made in a different small group of males and females before mingling and eating what they had made.
After homemade food we then went on to homemade Halloween crafts later that week at our next event! Members were able to make their own Halloween masks.
We attended a comedy show as part of a local comedy festival and we also had a dinner out at Pizza Hut.
Finally, it was our Halloween Disco at the Cotton Club which is always a fun night! The event involved a DJ and a lot of dancing, spooky costume fashion show for our best dressed competition and lots of fun!
Our best dressed competition winners were:
Females: Jess as a spooky Alice in wonderland with runner up Jade as a pumpkin
Males: John as a creepy superwoman and the runner up was one of our non-member attendees as a knight.
Other October News
- We have a group of RGU Event Management students fundraising for us who visited our office in October. They were able to meet a member and have a chat about their plans. They are planning a Hollywood themed quiz night in December followed by a larger event in March.
- We have had team meetings and a new volunteer interview this month. We have sent invites for November and December member events including our big Christmas Party. Get in touch if you are interested in attending this as it is an open event so anyone is welcome to join in the festive fun!
dates-n-mates Scotland also announced that we are soon to be opening a new branch of the project in Falkirk, which we are all very excited about.
See you back here next month for our November round up!
