October is the month of Halloween and we were all getting ready for a big party. It’s hard to believe that October is finished already and next big thing we will be thinking about is the Christmas Party!
This month’s events
Our first event for October didn’t really go to plan, we met up to go to the cinema but realised that there wasn’t a film that worked for everyone, instead of splitting up we all decided to go for some food instead luckily in Union square there are lots of options right next to the cinema. We all went for food and had a great time. One member commented that they got to know a couple of newer members that they hadn’t had the chance to chat to before.
We met up for food in Justice Mill then headed off to see Paul Sinah (also known as the Sinnerman from the chase) it was a great show but unfortunately although we tried, we didn’t manage to get an autograph.
Those thinking about their Halloween costumes headed off to the costume shop on George Street. There were lots of scary and silly costumes and one of our members found the perfect costume for all the Halloween parties she was going to. We stopped into a café for a drink and something to eat of course so we could all have a catch up.
As our members always say, anything that involves food is going to be a hit. We enjoyed the carvery lunch and the company.
This was the party we were waiting for, and it didn’t disappoint. We had a good turnout (even though the weather outside was horrible) and the dance floor was busy all night. Everyone put in a good effort with the costumes too, there were some fun ones and some scary ones. Well done to our costume competition winners Matt and Melissa! One of our members made a little speech at the end of the night thanking dates n mates staff for our hard work, we were so touched. And of course a big thanks to all our members who braved the weather and came along and made the night so much fun!
