At the moment, we are looking for more volunteers to help support our monthly programme of events. We’re looking for reliable, outgoing people to help our members enjoy themselves at our events. This is a very flexible role- you can help out at just one event each month, or you can lend us a hand every week. We run events on weekdays, weekends, and evenings, so there will be something for every schedule. This is a great opportunity to gain some experience in a Social Care setting while also having lots of fun

We are also looking for a team of volunteers to help out with reception in the C-Change Scotland office. ]]>C-Change Scotland shortlisted for the Charity Awards 2016
C-Change Scotland is delighted to announce that it has made the shortlist for this year’s Charity Awards, the longest-running and most prestigious awards scheme in the charity sector.
C-Change Scotland has been shortlisted in the Disability category for its dates-n-mates project, which aims to provide adults with learning disabilities the opportunities to connect, make friends and build meaningful relationships through hosting a regular calendar of social events and training in a safe, comfortable and inclusive environment.
The Charity Awards is the sector’s most highly-regarded excellence recognition scheme. All 30 shortlisted charities this year have been judged by an independent panel of sector leaders as having demonstrated outstanding best practice from which other organisations can learn.
The ten category winners, plus the recipients of the Overall Award for Excellence and the Daniel Phelan Award for Outstanding Achievement, will be announced at a ceremony and dinner on Thursday 9 June at the Mermaid Theatre in London’s Blackfriars.
dates-n-mates is Scotland’s first dating and friendship agency run by and for adults with learning disabilities. The project meets the needs of hundreds of people who would otherwise be socially isolated and continue to lack confidence and self-esteem in their everyday lives.
Tania Mason, editorial director at Civil Society Media which organises the Charity Awards, congratulated C-Change Scotland on making the highly-coveted shortlist. She said:
“We had a record number of entries this year, and the standard was particularly high, so C-Change Scotland should be very proud to have made the shortlist.
“For 16 years the Charity Awards have been identifying and celebrating the fantastic work that UK charities do, and the rigorous judging process ensures that only the very best-run charities make it through.
“We wish C-Change Scotland the very best of luck on the night.”
C-Change Chief Executive Sam Smith said:
“dates-n-mates is a project run by and for people with learning disabilities. It is a testament to my colleagues to have been recognised by this prestigious awards scheme for the work they do – ensuring people with learning disabilities live the lives they choose”.
