January Update

We’ve had foodie events, dating events and a really cool sensory and anti stress workshop this January. It’s been a good start to 2020.

Pub Lunch and Feedback Session

Our first event back after the Christmas break was a pub lunch and feedback session. Loads of members came and we had a lovely meal together. We had an informal chat about the kind of events members wanted to attend in the coming months and got lots of good suggestions. We got to play a few games of pool too which was a great laugh.

Anti-Stress and Sensory Workshop

The anti-stress and sensory workshops are created and run by our director Sarah. This was the second workshop Sarah has ran, back due to being requested by our members. Sarah prepared stations with different sensory and stress relieving techniques and provided information about the benefits of each. A great way to start the new year.

Dating Training

We held a dating training for members ahead of our dating event at the end of the month. The training went through how to prepare for a date, and what to do during a date, as well as offering practical advice like the kinds of things to talk about on a date.

Burns Lunch

We went to the beach ballroom, for a really lovely burns lunch. The event was really popular, so we had 2 big tables full of dates n mates members. After the piper and the toast to the haggis we got a 2-course dinner of haggis, neeps and tatties, then cranachan for dessert. After food there was Scottish dancing which lots of members got involved in, and at the end we all held hands to sing Auld Lang Syne.

Speed Dating Event

Dating events can feel a bit intimidating so we were really happy to see everyone who turned up at the speed dating event. Everyone got on really well, and the dance at the end was a great chance for a more informal chat.
